Educational Alliance for Treatment-Resistant Depression - This program will allow providers to play an active role in raising the level of quality care for their patients by giving them access to a variety of learning formats, tools/resources, and best practice guidelines specific to the optimal care and management of patients at risk for TRD.

The PI component of this educational platform will consist of the following stages:
Stage A (Baseline Assessment) - Current practices will be assessed using one of the following identified performance measures. Please select one of the options below:
Stage A Option 1: Stage A Option 2:
Screening Log - Baseline Form
  • Review charts of at least 5 patients currently on anti-depressant therapy
  • Complete the log
    • Your staff may assist you with retrieving this data
  • Fax the log to 847-440-8800
Baseline Assessment Survey
  • Complete the survey based on your current practice
  • Your responses will be captured within the platform
  • Program findings will be provided to learners that provide email addresses
Stage B (Implementation) - Following completion of Stage A (Baseline Assessment), participating providers will receive tools/resources to address practice-based issues and performance change.
Stage B Option 1: Stage B Option 2:
Screening Log - Implementation Form
  • Review Implementation Period Resource Toolkit (IPRT)
  • Complete the Screening log:
    • Implementation on the next 5-10 patients
  • Your staff may assist you with retrieving this data
  • Fax the log to 847-440-8800
Review and implement tools/resources
  • Review "Tools/Resources"
  • Integrate tools/resources into your daily practice for minimum of 12 weeks
  • Complete Utilization of Resources Survey
Stage C (Close-out) - Participating providers will be able to reevaluate the performance of their practices by comparing results from Stage C (Close-out) with Stage A (Baseline Assessment).

Learning Objectives
At the completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • KNOWLEDGE - Understand appropriate strategies to enhance accurate diagnosis of patients with TRD
  • KNOWLEDGE/BEHAVIOR - Implement appropriate TRD staging methods in the context of their impact on patient outcomes
  • BEHAVIOR - Select appropriate and effective continuum of care strategies for optimal utilization of a multidisciplinary approach to TRD
Target Audience
This program is intended for family physicians, general practitioners, physician assistants, and psychiatrists. There are no prerequisites for this educational program.
